Form N-336 must be filed within 30 days of the denial of your form N-400 application.

What documents should be submitted with your Form N-336 Request for a Hearing on a Decision in Naturalization?

A copy your N-400 denial must be submitted with your form N-336.  You may also include any additional supporting documents or briefs.

General Instructions

Type or print all of your information using only black ink and keep all of your answers in the space provided.  If you need extra space you can attach additional sheets of paper rather than writing outside the margins.  If you use extra sheets you must include your alien Registration Number (A-Number), the date, the corresponding question number and your signature.

Answer all questions accurately and fully. For example, this means instead of leaving a question blank write “N/A” if it is not applicable or writing out “None” if the answer is none.

Another requirement is to provide your A-Number at the top right corner of every page.  Also be sure that your A-Number starts with the letter A and then contains nine numbers.  If your A-number contains less than nine numbers add zeros to the beginning of your number to equal nine digits. For example A4334344 should be written A004334344.

Another requirement is to avoid highlighting or crossing out answers.  The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) recommends that you begin a new form rather than making corrections as this can cause delays or rejection of your N-336 Request for a Hearing on a Decision in Naturalization Proceedings.  To ensure that your N-336 is filed out properly and error free, consulting an immigration attorney may be a good idea.  There are immigration lawyers located in Springfield, VA, just minutes from Fairfax City, Alexandria and Arlington that can help you fill out your N-336 Request for a Hearing on a Decision in Naturalization properly the first time and avoid denials and delays.
